Stepping Stones of Women in Leadership

Stepping Stones is a leadership series hosted by the IU School of Medicine Women’s Advisory Council and Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (FAPD). Since women in academic medicine tend to have smaller professional networks than male colleagues, and because fewer women than men advance to higher ranks, women have fewer role models of success.

Through this leadership series, faculty and trainees will learn about the personal and professional journey of successful women in academic medicine and health research. Stepping Stones events are open to all faculty, staff, trainees, and learners; those of all genders are welcome to attend.

Fewer women than men advance to higher ranks in academic medicine and health research, so Indiana University School of Medicine Faculty Affairs and Professional Development designed this series to highlight some of the successful women among us. Each guest will share details of her career journey, shedding light on both the highlights and the challenges she has experienced — and overcome.
