IU, Purdue and Cook Medical partner for 3-pronged approach to improve pediatric care
Purdue University, the Indiana University School of Medicine and medical device company Cook Medical have partnered on an alliance that will bring the latest in medical technologies to pediatric patients. This partnership is an exciting model that physician-scientists at IU and Riley Children’s Health can leverage to improve children’s health.
Indiana MSTP receives $4.6 million NIH grant to train more physician-scientists
The Indiana MSTP received $4.6 million in renewed grant funding from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to sustain and expand its efforts throughout the next five years. A joint venture between Indiana University School of Medicine and the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University, the program seeks to meet the growing need for more physician-scientists and physician-engineers in health care.
Fourth-year medical students across the country learned where they will begin their residency training in their chosen field on National Residency Match Day on March 17, 2023. IU School of Medicine students, their families and friends gathered at the IUPUI Campus Center to open their envelopes and celebrate their “match.” Congratulations to our MSTP students on their matches!
MSTP students receive IUSCC Merilyn Hester Scholarship to pursue research
Future physician-scientists, Breanne Burgess and Michelle Chu received the prestigious Merilyn Hester Scholarship as they pursue their studies and research in pediatric oncology and pediatric hematology. The scholarship recognizes students’ strong academic records, outstanding character, and well-defined professional goals and provides funds to attend scientific conferences and offset lab expenses.
